| Cold Bodies, but Warm Hearts |
|
A brave 10 members attended our valentine making, and furiously worked to complete 100 valentines for our Beta Omicron undergraduates and dozens for members of the military who are serving overseas. The temperature outside held steady at -12 degrees, so although our fingers, noses and toes froze, our hearts we warm with heartfelt thanks and good wishes. Thank you to Bonnie and Clarice for bringing snacks, I only wish I had a chance to eat!

| December Events Take the Chill Off |
|
Our Club Members were warmed by sisterhood and philanthropy at our December events. On December 4, we assembled study bags and wrapped gifts for the family with adopted through the Glen Ellyn Juniors; we also had an impromptu 90th birthday celebration for Hazel Valentine. We had a forrmal celebration of Hazel's birthday on December 9 with lunch at Brio in Yorktown. Our final event for the month was a holiday diner and white elephant gift exchange on December 18 at Mariann's home. Thank you to Mariann for hosting and for having Art be the sommelier and waiter for evening.

| Make It, Fake It, Bake It Auction Raises over $400! |
|
Members outdid themselves providing homemade goods to be auctioned off. We raised over $400 in lively bidding. A portion of these funds will be used to purchase winter outerwear items for the family we have "adopted" Christmas.

| October Fashion Show Instructional, Inspirational and Tempting |
| We met at Chico's in Wheaton and admired looks modeled by Catherine Hoovel and Jan Hornstra. The staff taught us several tips to look stylish, current and "lean". Many members purchased items to update their wardrobes and had a bevy of sisters available to provide shopping advice - some of it contradictory! |

| Thank you to Val, Carmen, Jan Hornstra, Hazel, Bonnie and Jim |
For working at the the Ron Santo Walk for JDRF in Lisle on October 5.
